Javea, also known as Xabia, is a town located north of Costa Blanca, between Alicante and Valencia. The town fits a prototypical Mediterranean coastline destination. Its rugged beaches are indented with isolated sandy beaches and harbors. Bandits initially used the secreted caves and coves and smugglers during the middle age but are nowadays used by snorkelers, sunbathers, and scuba divers.

History and culture

Javea is an ancient town steeped in history which is patent in architectural mapping. You will find Tosca stones, gothic bay windows, balcony railings, and wrought iron windows. An example of late gothic structural design is the church of San Bartolome, located in the town center.

Soler Blasco, an archeological museum, is adjacent in the narrow streets and provides a lot of information regarding Iberian history.

Furthermore, the leading fishing port is the present-day silhouette. Its roof depicts the ship hull.

Other architectural sites include Nuestra Senora of Los Angeles, situated on the outskirts of the town. A series of small hermitages grapples the slopes of the mountain and prehistoric windmills that take over the land.

The market is located in the center of the town, with sheltered market stalls. All kinds of fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, and meat are brought from the port every day and sold.
